Seven contestants, namely, Vijay Singhi, Takam Nikum, Tadar Nime, Shatabdi Nath, Ana Nabam Hina, Rinchin Norbu Bapu and Yajum Pangking will compete in the semifinal (Western) to enter into the final of 1st Arunachal Boogie Woogie, state level dance competition. However, only 5 contestants will enter into the final of the competition scheduled to be held on Nov 7.
The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs.3 lakhs and Runners up will get Rs. 2 lakhs. The top 10 dancers of the competition also shall be rewarded.

ANSU demands deployment of adequate forces to thwart UG activities
ITANAGAR, Oct 23: Expressing serious concern over the reported presence of unknown under ground (UG) groups in East Kameng district headquarter, the All Nyishi Students’ Union (ANSU) today demanded the home ministry to intervene immediately into the matter and deploy more police and paramilitary forces in the district to suppress the presence of under ground elements in its budding stage.

Condemning the incident the ANSU demanded the state Govt to provide security for the safety of the official staff of the Gamon India so that the work of road construction from Seppa to Chayangtajo, which is the life line for the people of entire upper part of the district, goes on smoothly.
ANSU further informed that earlier on Oct 19 such incident had happened and a FIR was lodged in the same police station but no action could have been taken.
The Union led a delegation headed by its president and general secretary to the Home Minister to address and discuss on the matter in urgency but the minister could not turn up due to unknown reason, the ANSU said and xpressed dismay over such irresponsible attitude of a person in the chair of a responsible position.
Meanwhile, the Union condemned the act of circulation of video clip showing a girl being tortured inhumanely. It is a complete violation of human rights and a murder of dignity of womanhood, the union said while adding that such a barbaric act is not acceptable to the modern and civilized society. The Union urged all sections to refrain themselves from indulging and adopting such kind of brutal means for justice. The Union also appealed all to stop the circulation of the clip.

The preliminary findings of the survey results which was started last year, was presented by Hibu Tatu, Chairman, Ngunu Ziro and Punyo Chada, an MCC member of FGA.

ITANAGAR, Oct 23: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union will have its first ever “AAPSU Marty Cup” from November 28 next at Itanagar in memory of those student activists who laid down their lives for the cause of the Union.
